Two kinds of number
Quoted prices come from quotes providers sent us for real buyer requests. They're private to the buyer, so we publish only medians across several providers, never a single quote or a provider's name. List-price benchmarks are other people's public data, credited and dated where they appear.
Effective price
Headline rates hide setup fees and promotional months, so every quote is converted to one effective price before it counts:
effective price = (monthly price × term in months + setup fees + mandatory add-ons) ÷ (GPUs × 730 hours × term in months)
On-demand quotes are spread over one month. A fee the quote doesn't state counts as zero, and each series reports how many of its quotes had a fee missing. Prices in euros or pounds are converted to US dollars at a published reference rate from the quote date or up to 7 days before it.
Series
Each GPU model is published by term, and by region (US, Europe, Asia-Pacific) when a region has enough quotes on its own. Terms:
- On-demand
- Reserved, 1 to 5 months
- Reserved, 6 to 18 months
- Reserved, 19 months or longer
When a series is published
- A rolling 28-day window, printed weekly for the ISO week ending on Sunday.
- At least 5 quotes from at least 3 different providers.
- No single provider supplies more than 50% of the quotes in the window.
- The print is the median of each provider's own median, so a provider that quotes often counts once. The middle half (25th to 75th percentile) is shown only with 4 or more providers.
- Excluded: our own Managed GPU quotes (we're the seller there), quotes a provider withdrew, and test requests.
- A series that moves more than 20% in a week is checked by a person before it's published.
Corrections
A published week is never edited in place. If a quote was entered wrong, the corrected print is added as a new revision and listed here; the CSV carries the revision number.
- No corrections yet.
Public benchmarks we show
- GetDeploying, GPU rental price history, CC BY 4.0: weekly median listed GPU prices by billing type and reservation term, read daily from the latest complete week. Each provider counts once.
Version
Methodology version 0.1.0. The numbers above are read from the same code that computes the index, so this page changes when the rules do.
