Got a renewal notice? Make the market bid against it.

Upload the notice or invoice. Three or more providers bid blind against your spec, your current provider's renewal ask is the price to beat on one 36-month cost, and we negotiate the renewal if staying is the right answer. Free if you switch; a disclosed success fee only if you stay at a price we negotiated.

Want the numbers first? Run the OVHcloud and Hetzner renewal calculator.

Providers bid blind against your spec. Your name, email and company stay with us until you pick a winner. We never forward your files.

How a renewal runs

  1. 1

    Upload the notice

The renewal notice, the latest invoice or just the provider, SKU, price, term and date. Redact what you like; providers never see the file.

  2. 2

    Providers bid blind

At least three providers that fit quote against the technical spec. Your current provider's renewal ask is the price to beat, held to the same 36-month math.

  3. 3

    Three ways to say yes

Lowest 36-month cost, best SLA and network, fastest delivery, with staying where you are shown as a valid answer when it is the cheapest honest one.

  4. 4

    We negotiate, you sign direct

Switch to a bid and the provider pays us. Keep your provider at a price we negotiate and the success fee below applies, after you sign an engagement letter.

What it costs

Written down before any work starts, in the engagement letter you sign.

LineMonthlyYear 1
Provider's renewal ask$12,000$144,000
Negotiated renewal (you stay)$10,000$120,000
Documented year-1 saving$2,000$24,000
Success fee (30%)$7,200
If you switch to a bid instead$0 to you

Illustration of the formula, not a customer deal. The $3,000 minimum applies only when the current bill is under $10,000 a month.

The full fee terms
  1. Counter-quotes from the blind RFP are free for you. If you switch to a bidding provider, that provider pays our placement commission and you owe us nothing.
  2. If you stay with your current provider at a price we negotiated, our fee is 30% of the documented first-year savings against the provider's written renewal ask (renewal ask minus negotiated price, times 12). It is charged only after you sign the renewal.
  3. Where your current monthly bill is under $10,000, the success fee has a $3,000 minimum.
  4. Where no counter-quote is possible (single-source hardware, a facility with no comparable alternative), we may instead agree a flat fee of $5,000 to $25,000 in writing before work starts. Nothing is owed without that agreement.
  5. We never take both a Renewal Desk fee and a provider commission on the same contract. If the incumbent pays us a commission to keep you, the success fee is waived and the commission is disclosed to you.
  6. Savings are documented from the provider's renewal notice or quote and the signed renewal. You see the calculation before any invoice.
  7. The fee is billed by Wells Software Consulting LLC, due 30 days after the signed renewal, and disclosed in the engagement letter you sign first.

The redlines we negotiate from

Every scorecard ends with this checklist, sharpened with what the bids actually stated, so you ask every provider, the incumbent included, for the same floor.

Price escalator

Capped at 3% a year on rent only, with no escalator inside a rate lock. Ten percent a year adds about 21% to the third year.

Auto-renewal and notice

Renewal only by mutual agreement or a month-to-month rollover; 90 days' notice. A long evergreen term is what gave the provider leverage this time.

Rate lock on the renewal

The negotiated rate fixed for the full term, with no mid-term repricing, component surcharge or market-adjustment clause.

Hardware replacement SLA

A failed drive, PSU or GPU replaced within 4 hours, 24×7, with a credit per 4 hours late. Uptime SLAs rarely cover a dead part.

SLA credit cap and claim window

Credits of at least 25% of the monthly bill per incident, claimable for 60 days, and a right to terminate after two breaches in six months.

Power minimum and cross-connects (colocation)

Metered power billed on draw with at most a 70% minimum commitment and a fixed billed PUE; cross-connect prices fixed for the term and not repriced at renewal.

Index-linked price lock (GPU)

Renewal or extension priced at no more than a named public GPU rental index plus 5%, measured over the 30 days before renewal.

Renewal Guard

Not renewing yet? Register the SKU, price and date. We send fresh blind counter-quotes 90 and 60 days before it, so the negotiation starts while you can still give notice. Free, and your details stay with our desk.

Questions

What does the Renewal Desk cost?

Nothing if you switch to a provider from the blind RFP: that provider pays our placement commission. If you keep your current provider at a price we negotiated, 30% of the documented first-year savings against the written renewal ask, $3,000 minimum when the bill is under $10,000 a month, charged only after you sign. Where no counter-quote is possible we agree a flat fee of $5,000 to $25,000 in writing first, or nothing is owed.

How are savings documented?

From the provider's renewal notice or written quote and the renewal you sign. The calculation (renewal ask minus negotiated price, times 12) is shown to you before any invoice, and the engagement letter you sign first states the formula.

Do you also get paid by my provider if I stay?

No. We never take a Renewal Desk fee and a provider commission on the same contract. If the incumbent offers us a commission to keep you, the success fee is waived and the commission is disclosed to you.

When should I start?

Before your notice deadline, not the renewal date: a competing bid only helps while you can still give notice. For a 90-day notice period that means about five months out. Renewal Guard sends fresh counter-quotes at 90 and 60 days before the date you register.

How big are the 2026 increases?

OVHcloud's second-half 2026 update raised new-order prices for recent bare-metal lines by 28% (Gen 2024), 51% (Gen 2026) and 87% (Game Gen 2026) on average; installed servers renew at the new base price from October 1, 2026, with RAM options up 20% and 40% at renewal. Hetzner raised cloud prices 30 to 37% and dedicated 3 to 21% on April 1, 2026 for new orders and existing products. Run your own numbers in the renewal calculator.

Who sees my renewal notice?

Only our desk. Providers quote against the technical spec, term and region; your name, company, contact details and files stay with us until you pick a winner. Uploads are deleted within 90 days.
